Captured by Lewis is the photography venture of Brad Lewis. He has always had a good eye for photographs, and in the summer of 2013, decided the time was right to take the art seriously.
Lewis grew up in the small town of Gate City, Virginia. After High School he attended Alice Lloyd College in southeast Kentucky in preparation for his transfer to Virginia Tech along with his future wife Rebecca. Graduating in 1998 with a major in Civil Engineering led Lewis and Rebecca to the Charlotte, North Carolina area where they lived for five years. From there they visited Charleston, South Carolina for the first time on a weekend mini vacation at the end of 1999 with their first newborn son Darren. They decided at that point if they were to ever relocate, Charleston would be the destination. Three years later, soon after the birth of their second son Derek in 2003, an opportunity arose that allowed them to start calling Charleston home.
Lewis focuses his photography primarily on creating wall art from scenes found in the southeast. He then displays those pieces at various art shows with Savannah, GA being the most common location. Once or twice a month, Lewis can be found setting up his Tent on River Street for the weekend. People come to Savannah from all over the country and the world. Lewis hopes his photos allow visitors to remember some of the great sites and experiences they've had during their stay.
